Dance & Performance for Young People

Looking for a place to move, get creative and develop new skills?
Come and join Vincent Dance Theatre’s new programme of free, inclusive movement sessions for young people of all abilities at Moulsecoomb Hall in East Brighton!
Led by experienced dance artists, Charlotte Vincent and Antonia Grove you’ll develop new skills, meet other young creatives and find out how you want to move. All genders are welcome.
You can also earn ‘digital badges’ that demonstrate your learning and become part of East and North Brighton’s growing arts scene.
This dance and performance programme is for people aged 11-24 and includes:
- Dance Improvisation: Mondays 4.30-6.00pm (age 11-16)
- Dance Performance Training: Wednesdays 5.00-6.30pm (age 14-24)
- Performance Intensives: Sunday 17 May & Sunday 5 July, 10.00am-3.00pm (age 14-24)
Starts 13 April at Moulsecoomb Hall, Lewes Road, Brighton BN2 4GA.
Moulsecoomb Hall is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

DANCE IMPROVISATION SESSIONS
Mondays 4.30pm-6.00pm
at Moulsecoomb Hall, Lewes Road, Brighton, BN2 4GA.
For ages 11-16 years. All genders welcome.
This session explores movement, improvisation and self-expression in a playful, supportive class for young people of all levels. No previous experience necessary, just sign up and give it a try!
Food available from 3.45-4.15pm.
Bring a water bottle and comfortable clothing.
Term time, starts Monday 13 April 2026.

PERFORMANCE INTENSIVES

For ages 14-24
Dance and Performance Training days with Artistic Director Charlotte Vincent and Participation Producer Antonia Grove, designed to introduce you to VDT’s methods of making clear and meaningful performance work.
These days aim to develop your confidence and choreographic and performance skills. A range of creative tasks, improvisation techniques and playful choreographic approaches will add to your understanding of and ability to create performance work unique to you.
Some dance experience is useful, but not essential to attend.
Lunch will be provided.
Bring a water bottle and comfortable clothing.

From September 2026, VDT are forming a free and inclusive Youth Dance Theatre Collective in East Brighton, developed as an alternative to more conventional youth dance in central Brighton which can feel geographically and financially out of reach for young people living in East Brighton.
