Participation
Vincent Dance Theatre delivers a wide range of participation work in formal and informal education and community settings, engaging a diverse range of people locally, regionally and across the UK. Our work is inclusive and trauma informed, with safeguarding embedded in everything we do. VDT is particularly committed to working with young people and women at risk, and our main participation projects reflect this.
Sessions offer new opportunities to connect with others and yourself. All of the creative activities are very accessible, for all abilities and levels of confidence.

I have learnt team building skills, problem solving and it kept me active. The person who instructed the session was lovely and I was very grateful for the opportunity. I was very inspired, and I might dance more in the future. Again, I am grateful for this opportunity. Movement workshop participant from BACA school 6 Nov 25.
I loved the experience as we might not be able to do stuff like this. It was brilliant and I felt like everyone was confident in joining in. Movement workshop participant from BACA school 6 Nov 25.
Absolutely fantastic- our students enjoyed it so much but also with most from low-income families they would not have been able to take part in an opportunity like this. Thank you so much Toni!! Teacher from BACA school 6 Nov 25.
I have learnt to be more open minded about different dance types . Movement workshop participant from Sir Robert Woodard School, 7 Oct 25.
Huge (and sorry, very belated) THANK YOU from all our Year 8 students (and me!) for a fantastic Open Doors visit to you at Moulsecoomb Place last week. Our students really enjoyed all of the session’s activities that you kindly put together for them – you certainly packed a lot into the 2 hours and kept their attention, thank you. Judging by their feedback forms, they all found the visit very enjoyable, found speaking to employers useful, learned more about how they can get a job in the future & hearing from you both helped them decide what they would like to do in the future. Liz Hyland, Ratton school Careers Advisor and Work Experience Coordinator 25 Nov 25.
It was so great to have you with us at Longhill last week. On behalf of the students, Longhill staff, and Future Creators team I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for taking the time to participate in our Living Library session. Your willingness to share your experiences and insights as a creative professional made a real impact on the students. Zac Thorlby, Project Assistant, Youth Engagement, Future Creators 5 Dec 25.
The session was amazing- students have really enjoyed it and we had a great time today discussing the work post- Charlotte’s visit. Andy Granville- Senior teacher Upper School Royal Ballet School, 19 Jan 26.
I will take away the importance of safeguarding practice for not only the participants but also the facilitator. Learning how to keep yourself safe working in a variety of different spaces. Student from The Place, 6 June 25.
I will take away the importance of having time to work with people and to set up a good system to take care of the people I support. Student from The Place, 6 June 25.
Thank you so so so much for the fabulous workshop. The students loved it. It was so good to see them being challenged to consider wider approaches to movement. They were very positive about the workshop and are excited to study Motherland! Andy Granville- Senior teacher Upper School Royal Ballet School, 23 May 25.

Need to do more movement, breathing stretching as it has such an impact on my body and soul. Felt very comfortable, safe and relaxed being guided and moved. Participant, Art of Recovery Movement Workshop, June 2026

When I left the house I wasn’t sure if anything can help me today. BUT today has restored me a sense of wellbeing. Participant, Art of Recovery Creative Workshops, Feb 25.
I just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge thank you for the workshop this afternoon that my daughter attended (along with the one you kindly ran at Theatre Workshop recently). She really enjoyed the workshop, and we are both so grateful to you for running the sessions. Hopefully they said a big thank you, but I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you too. V genuinely loves the movement workshops. She is making wonderful progress and always looks forward to every single session. She has a great connection with the teacher and feels so comfortable and welcome at Moulsecoomb Hall. The warm, personal attention she receives means a lot to her. It’s lovely to see how much she has learned; she is discovering new movements and is definitely becoming more aware and confident in her own body, Having such a wonderful creative opportunity right here and free of charge is a real gift for our family. We truly appreciate all the care and effort you put into this programme.’ Parent, Young People’s Movement Programme at Moulsecoomb Hall, 2026.
A has been enjoying these sessions very much. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming and she has felt like a valued member of the group. She has also enjoyed watching the professional performances on the lawns outside the venue. I think this is an excellent programme that provides high-quality classes to a wider group of young people, and I really hope it continues next year!
