Royal Ballet School Seminar
Continued Professional Development, Licensing Agreement with VDT
Three women in black bikinis and high heels perform energetically in a band. One sings passionately, another plays guitar, and the third headbangs.
The Royal Ballet School (RBS) is licensing Vincent Dance Theatre’s (VDT) 2012 production “Motherland” as part of their BA (Hons) Degree in Classical Ballet and Dance Performance second-year module. This module explores works from a contemporary context, including “Motherland,” alongside pieces like “Rite of Spring” by Bausch, “Flight Pattern” by Pite, and “Les Noces” by Nijinska.
Charlotte Vincent will be facilitating a seminar with RBS students to deepen their understanding of “Motherland.” The workshop will focus on themes such as feminist discussions, artistic communication, and the deeper engagement of dance beyond aesthetics. The aim is to inspire students, particularly female choreographers, and encourage male students to consider female perspectives in their work.
