VDT at The Royal Ballet School, London
HEI
Three people in a minimalistic space; two men in suits hold microphones, standing beside a woman in black lingerie on a box. Mood is serious and artistic.
Throughout 2025/26, VDT’s hugely admired 2012 production Motherland forms part of the Royal Ballet School BA (Hons) Degree in Classical Ballet and Dance Performance second year module, where students study work from a Contemporary Context.
Studying Vincent’s work alongside Cathy Marston, Pina Bausch and Crystal Pite encourages students to explore female-led contemporary choreography outside of the conventional ballet canon.
Charlotte delivers a seminar and practical workshop as part of our licensing agreement to enable students to understand the work.
Motherland was commissioned by Brighton Dome and Festival, South East Dance, Corn Exchange Newbury, The Point Eastleigh and Peak Performances @ Montclair State University, New Jersey, USA.
