Digital Badges
VDT is a Digital Badge Issuer.
A digital badge is an online credential that recognises a person’s skills, achievements or participation in learning activities. Each badge includes verified information about what was achieved, who issued it and the criteria met.
Digital Badges are a simple way to acknowledge the value of creative skills and experiences and to support people on creative pathways. They provide a verifiable record of achievement that individuals can use to support future employment and demonstrate personal development.
Unlike a paper certificate, digital badges can be easily shared on social media, CVs or professional profiles, helping individuals showcase their abilities to employers and educators.

For creative organisations, badges provide a clear and credible way to recognise progress and engagement. They make learning visible, motivate participation and connect personal growth with real world opportunities. With this in mind, VDT has developed a range of digital badges to accompany our Participation, Production and Continued Professional Development work.

Creative Thinker
Earners of this foundation level badge have:
- Attended a movement-based workshop led by Vincent Dance Theatre.
- Explored movement-based choreographic material and/or creative tasks in a workshop setting.
- Gained basic skills for learning and/or formulating choreographic material based on VDT’s work.
- Explored methods and techniques for devising, crafting and rehearsing performance material.
- Questioned and considered what they observed and experienced, and how they responded and felt about the workshop content and creative tasks.
Collaborative Thinker
Earners of this foundation level badge have:
- Attended a movement-based workshop led by Vincent Dance Theatre’s (VDT) Participation Producer.
- Used their inter personal skills to work positively in a group setting alongside their peers.
- Explored collaboration through exercises involving problem solving, observation and building trust.
- Discussed their thoughts and ideas, showing confidence and communication skills through speaking up and sharing creative input.
- Used thought and introspection to evaluate and reflect on what they have learnt from the work and through peer engagement.
Exploring Performance Skills
Earners of this foundation level badge have:
- Explored performance skills at a performance-based workshop led by Vincent Dance Theatre.
- Explored performance-based creative tasks to generate material in a workshop setting.
- Explored, through discussion and creative play, the themes and ideas from VDT’s work ‘Virgin Territory’- gender stereotypes, identity and the pressures of living life online.
- Explored basic skills for how they might present their ideas to an audience, formulating material based on VDT’s work.
- Has engaged in creative play alongside their peers, using their interpersonal skills to work positively and respectfully in a group setting.
Creative Careers Explorer
Earners of this badge have:
- Engaged with a talk from Vincent Dance Theatre about a career in the creative sector. They have also identified and explored the skills and pathways that could lead them to a career in the arts should they wish to.
- Developed their understanding of the creative industries by showing a willingness to learn and by engaging with the talk given by Vincent Dance Theatre.
- Explored the different sub-sectors that make up the creative industries. They have shown enthusiasm to expand their knowledge of these sectors.
- Explored future learning opportunities and digital tools to expand their learning about creative careers beyond the session.
- Shown self-reflection and initiative when thinking about how they can develop their own pathway into a creative career.
