Holiday Activities and Food Summer School
A fun week of dance, theatre and performance

Vincent Dance Theatre worked with Brighton & Hove City Council to put on a Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme during the 2023 summer holidays from 14 – 18 August at The Dance Space, Brighton.
We had a fun week exploring dance, physical theatre and performance skills. This five-day summer school encouraged participants to make performance material, meet new friends and get creative. Each day included activities like: warm up exercises, learning to stretch and strengthen muscles, taking part in movement games, learning how to partner with another dancer (transferring weight and lifting safely), how to move in unison, how to create your own movement/theatre material, using your voice in performance (i.e. singing and speaking) and learning fun VDT techniques such as moving in slow motion. Sessions were led by Charlotte Vincent and Robert Clark.
All young people were offered a nutritious lunch and a healthy snack each day.
