Workshop information
VDT’s workshops are 1.5 – 2 hours in length.
The sessions offer participants an opportunity to explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas around the themes and social issues in the company’s work. Participants are encouraged to see themselves as creative agents, try new ways of expressing themselves and build confidence to discuss questions affecting our lives.
The workshops are set up to offer an easy, safe, sensory, social space in which to engage with a variety of creative activities. The activities are designed to offer tools for self-regulation, facilitate conversations and generate creative responses. Creative activities are consciously sensory using mostly natural materials and will include things like; paper-folding/origami, wooden doll colouring/decorating, word bursts/poetry/positive affirmations, modelling clay, life size drawing using chalk and charcoal, sewing, movement and breath. Short film clips of VDT’s work may be shown to stimulate debate and kickstart creative processes.
