50:50 Dance Programming – is it time for quotas in dance?
Join South East Dance’s Artistic Director Cath James for a conversation with a diverse panel of leading dance voices exploring issues facing women working in the UK and international dance sector.
How does the gender pay gap, parental leave and inequality of opportunities in favour of male artists affect the perspectives we are presenting to dance audiences. How do we ensure female viewpoints receive equal airtime? Does it matter? Or is it time for 50:50 quotas?
Panelists include: Charlotte Vincent, Amy Bell, Phil Hargreaves, Laura McDermott and Alexandrina Hemsley.
Join us before the discussion at 5pm to find out about The Dance Space opening in March 2020; and Brighton Dome’s redevelopment opening in September 2019 and the shared vision for Brighton as Destination Dance. FREE.
