SELLING THE WIND
BOZ LOOAN, CORNWALL
Directed by TC Howard
Visual Artist John Keys
Dancers and local people worked with TC Howard and visual artist John Keys over a five-week residency in the village of Boscastle, Cornwall over the summer of 2002 to create an extraordinary six-hour performance event in Boscastle Harbour.
Selling the Wind featured a traditional procession, a 'performance collage' of site specific work by schools, youth and community groups, installations and a series of professional dance 'interventions' led by TC Howard. The performance event was attended by between 3000 people, culminating in a celebratory outdoor firework party.
The formation of a new dance company for Cornwall emerged from this large-scale project. C-Scape Dance Company commissioned TC to make a new work called When The Shops Shut.
Selling the Wind was commissioned by The Works: Dance and Theatre Cornwall (formerly Dance Agency Cornwall).
