Founded in 1994 and led by Artistic Director Charlotte Vincent, Vincent Dance Theatre produces powerful, engaging dance theatre work for middle scale venues, accompanied by an extensive programme of participation and professional development work.

Vincent Dance Theatre produces a new middle scale production every other year and tours to venues and festivals across the UK and abroad. In the intervening years the company revives and tours existing repertoire, produces contextualising packs and DVDs, devises and tours smaller scale works, facilitates research and professional development programmes for peer, mid career and emerging artists, leads critical debate around practice and performance and engages in industry research. Charlotte Vincent also regularly mentors emerging practitioners, choreographs commissioned works for other companies and co-curates The Table.

Vincent Dance Theatre allies the collaborative approach in the studio to the ethos and structure of the company and is driven by five core values: creativity, diversity, responsibility, inclusivity and action. The company places importance on equality for women, provides supportive conditions for parents to return to work and employs mature practitioners, valuing the experience they bring to a creative process. The company focuses on creative and ecological sustainability and as a touring company looks for new ways to be socially and environmentally responsible.
